Elena is Senior Marketing Manager, EMEA, for the Microsoft TV Division at Microsoft Corporation. In this role she is responsible for developing and implementing all marketing programs for the Microsoft TV Group across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region . Elena drives the overall strategy and vision for Microsoft TV's marketing and PR initiatives in the EMEA region, including the management of all marketing communication functions for the group. She also works closely with customers and partners to develop and execute joint marketing programs.
Jean-Christophe is Business Development Manager, in charge of Broadband & Entertainment Solutions at Cisco Systems Europe. His specific responsibilities include creating video & entertainment ecosystem partnership and go-to-market strategies for Cisco's Service Provider & Media customers in Europe Middle East and Africa. His team pioneered IPTV projects and TV over broadband implementations in Europe. He joined Cisco Systems Europe from Alcatel in 2001 where he spent a number of years working on broadband projects and developing video over DSL solutions.
James is responsible for direction of the innovation and development activities for the UK based R&D division of NDS who have been instrumental in delivering interactive and PVR solutions around the world for many of NDS's customers. With a background in set-top-box related technologies he brings a particular focus to the Mediahighway group of products, their future and the headend related technologies to drive them. In the Hong Kong regional headquarters James was responsible for the specification and delivery of interactive and digital television solutions for the Asia Pacific region. Recent projects in the region have included DVB systems in India, Korea, China and Taiwan.
Neale joined Espial in early 2000 to lead the company into the TV Market, and since then has been the driving force behind establishing Espial's leadership in IPTV. He has over 15 years technical and commercial experience in the consumer and software market. Prior to joining Espial, Neale worked at Wind River as Marketing Manager, Automotive, where he established Wind River's position in that segment. His background also includes experience in project management, software sales and business development with companies such as British Aerospace. His PhD research involved designing digital fly-by-wire control systems for helicopters.
Pietro is leading the media team of CMS Hasche Sigle in Cologne which has been appointed as "Law firm of the Year" in the field of "film & entertainment" by JUVE (JUVE-Verlag: Handbuch 2002/2003 Wirtschaftskanzleien / Rechtsanwälte für Unternehmen). He is associate professor for media law at the International Film School in Cologne and member of the advisory board of the German Association of TV, Film and Video Industry.
David Gillies, Pace

David joined Pace Micro Technology in September 2004 to spearhead the Company's latest moves into next generation set-top box and related technologies. He leads a team of technology experts looking at expanding the opportunities for personal video recording (PVR), high definition television, broadband delivery technologies and developing new concepts leading to innovative products. In addition to expanding and refocusing Pace's existing Advanced Technology activities, David is responsible for Product Management, ensuring the continuity of current and future product roadmaps. David joins Pace from his own consultancy isis digital, which he founded after over seven years at BetaResearch in Munich, Germany, where he was Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer.
Television, advertising and commercial video industry veteran Rupert has joined Industria as the company's manager of digital media, and country manager of its newly formed UK operation. Rupert joins Industria from a post as managing director of transmission company TSI, where he has spent the last eight years overseeing a rapid expansion of the facility while being responsible for the day-to-day running of the company, management of its major client accounts, and overall ongoing business development.
Scott worked in national TV news and current affairs for a decade before joining BBC Online in 1997 to become Homepage Editor. After a year, he moved to Interactive TV, where he devised and launched the corporation's 24/7 text and video services on all digital TV platforms. In 2000, Scott took charge of all BBC programme-related interactivity. Scott left BBC last year to form his own interactive media consultancy, SGA, specialising in interactive TV, Video on Demand, PVRs, and digital TV channels. SGA clients include Zip TV, Teachers' TV, Sysmedia Ltd, NTV and PACT.
Justin is the co-founder of the interactive TV networking organisation Broadband Bananas which has a membership of more than 25,000 digital TV professionals from around the world. Justin is also the Founder and Director of PayMedia Consulting Group, a professional services company which specialises in helping businesses develop commercial and marketing strategies around digital and interactive television. As well as providing strategic advice and market intelligence, PayMedia tracks the pricing, packaging and product offering of digital platforms around the world, evaluating successful strategies, identifying trends and helping digital TV businesses communicate their offering to existing and prospective customers in a more effective manner.
Andrew, co-founder and Managing Partner of ZIP TV, is a leading commentator in the iTV industry and a member of the RTS 'Future TV Committee' and DMA iTV Council. In 2002, Andrew set up Zip Television as an alternate broadcaster of iAds with a focus on creativity, shared learning and accountability. Stefan is Vice President in Siemens Com Strategy & Head of Business Innovation for Siemens Communications. Since July 2002, Stefan is heading the Business Innovation Think Tank for Siemens Communications. Timo has founded several digital media businesses since he left MTV3 early this year. Company DTT Finland focuses on media business consultancy. He worked as vice president of iTV business unit at MTV3. He has developed, launched and produced with his team MTV3´s new digital TV services since 2001. He has long experience in several types of DVB-MHP services and Pay TV-services. Before that he worked several years in MTV3 Marketing and Sales as a Vice President and Development Manager.
Marek has been Head of Sales & Marketing tvtv Services at the German subsidiary of Sony United Kingdom Ltd. since December 2003. Previously, he was Vice President Data & Broadcast Division at the Fast TV Server AG, a profit center for EPG and data services. After studying Electrical Engineering in Munich he began his professional career as Head of the OEM division at Fast Multimedia AG. In 1998, he joined Musicam/ CCS Europe GmbH as Sales Manager Europe for Audio and Professional Broadcasting Technology. In January 2000, he left the company for Fast TV Server AG.
Frédéric is Executive Vice President Sales and New Markets of Viaccess S.A., a France Telecom company. He has 15 years of experience in the Television and Telecommunications business. Prior to Viaccess, Frédéric was Senior Business Development Manager at Teracom. Between 2000 and 2005, he developed and implemented the DVB-H vision and strategy of the Sweden's largest radio and TV-operator. After spending eight years at TDF Group, he joined Sagem and was in charge of the sales of the digital set-top-boxes business.
Hubertus Meyer-Burckhardt was Creative Director, Head of TV and member of the Board at BBDO agency in Düsseldorf in 1988. In 1993, he co-founded, together with ndF, the new production company Akzente Film- und Fernsehproduktion in Munich. In 1999, he was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of Multi- media Hamburg, a joint venture of Axel Springer AG and Studio Hamburg GmbH. Until June 2004, Mr. Meyer-Burckhardt has served on the Executive Board of Axel Springer AG as the senior executive in charge of Electronic Media. 2004 he assume responsibility for Corporate Development at the Executive Board of ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG. In October 2004, Mr. Meyer-Burckhardt has additionally taken over responsibility for Media Policy and Regulatory Affairs.
Martin started his business career as Financial & Sales Analyst for Timberland Germany & TBL Stratham, USA, then in 1996 as Sales-Manager for IP Deutschland. After various positions in the IP Deutschland, he changes in 2001 to the IP Newmedia as chairman in the management board. In 2003 he was appointed to Sales Director n-tv for IP Deutschland. Additional Martin is Project Manager Interactive & Digital TV-Services.
Bill joined The DiMA Group in July 2003. He provides DiMA Group clients and program members with research, information, analysis and insights to assist in making critical tactical and strategic decisions regarding DVRs, VOD and other advanced TV services. Bill has been in the interactive and new media industry since 1991. Previous to joining The DiMA Group, he was the founder of Centrimedia, a consultancy focused on DVR, VOD and interactive TV and their impacts on television industry business models. His clients there included Fortune 100 firms and investment funds. It was while with Centrimedia that Bill started the Niemeyer Review newsletter, now published by The DiMA Group.
Terry is an independent consultant specializing in creating businesses where media and technology meet. Formerly, he was Head of Business Development for Gemstar-TV Guide's TV Group, responsible for growing cable network, EPG and interactive services worldwide. He was also Senior Vice President, Business Development and Strategy at Vivendi Universal, New Media Group, where he leveraged film and television assets to form new digital properties, such as branded VOD offerings, by using interactive platforms (digital cable/satellite) and the Internet. He specializes in business development, strategy, deal structuring and negotiation.
Carlo is Brand Strategist who took a strong interest in innovative ways to connect brands to consumers/clients. He is currently a Director of Plot 4, a n ew Strategic Consultancy that works with International Brands, Broadcasters, Agencies and Technology Companies, after seven years spent at London in advertising (Saatchi and Saatchi) and broadcast (BBC) and a degree and master in Marketing and Business Management. His portfolio of projects includes brands such as Clarks, P&G, Toyota, NSPCC, Telewest, G Tech, include Astra, Zip TV, Reality TV, Reckit, Orange, P&G, Digital Plus, Sky and Mediaset .
Sylvia is Managing Director of Television D istribution for Warner Bros. International. She is responsible for television sales of Warner portfolio to German, Austrian and SwissTV stations (i.e. features like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Troy, TV series) and for the development and implementation of new market possibilities (VOD, Wireless, IP-TV). Furthermore she is author of German bestseller titled "Mothers are the best Managers". Former career stations brought her to EM.TV Merchandising AG, Nickelodeon and the Kirch-Gruppe.
As the Vice President Sales and Marketing, Régis oversees OpenTV Sales in Europe, Middle East & Africa. Prior to this, he was responsible for all OpenTV application business initiatives and activities throughout the world, as the Executive Vice President of OpenTV's Application Business. Régis is a founding member of OpenTV, and has established OpenTV as the European leader in interactive TV solutions. He joined OpenTV (Thomson Sun Interactive) from Thomson Multimedia, where he spearheaded the Home Computer Division hardware development team, oversaw Thomson's research lab in Los Angeles, California and lead the MPEG activity for Thomson.
Nikolas is an expert for digital TV, IT and the field of consumer electronics. He has founded several companies in these areas. In 2003 Nikolas was co-founder of moreTV, a company that in the meantime has grown to a leading player in the upcoming German interactive/digital TV ecosystem. moreTV is bringing concepts from all over the world to Germany. moreTV´s services include premium DVR services and rich superteletext portals.
Since 1993 Wolfgang has worked as a researcher for Media and Telecommunication Law at the Hans Bredow Institut for Media Research. He pursued his studies - partly in interdisciplinary co-operation with other researchers - on Media Regulation, Freedom of Speech, German and European Telecommunication Law, Comparative Media Law and Policy and protection of minors. Since 1997 Wolfgang has worked as lecturer at the Hamburg University's Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Journalism. In 2000 Wolfgang became head of of Media and Telecommunication Law department at the Hans-Bredow-Institute. Now he is a Member of the Institute's Directorate since 2001.
Ted, Deputy Managing Director, Vice President and General Counsel Europe, is responsible for the MPA's European legal affairs including representing the interests of the MPA's member companies in Europe and advising them on industry matters related on copyright (in particular new media), audiovisual law (including broadcasting regulation), competition law, international private law, data protection and international trade law as well as litigation oversight on industry-related matters, such as technological measures and support to the Anti-Piracy department on enforcement matters. He also represents the MPA on content protection matters in Europe in industry consortia and standards bodies such as the Digital Video Broadcasting project.
Rudi Broos , Alcatel

Rudi joined the Triple Play Marketing team of Alcatel's Fixed Solutions Division at the end of 2004. Prior to his current role, Rudi worked in the DSL consultancy team of Alcatel's Fixed Communications Group where he worked with operators in Central and Eastern Europe. Between 2000 and 2002, he was product manager of the Alcatel 5742 Personalised Service Selector (PSS), an innovative software platform which enables applications over DSL networks. Rudi Broos joined Alcatel in 1996 at the Research and Innovation centre.
